According to a Shandong Port Group (SPG) press release on May 21, Zibo city in East China's Shandong province completed the transaction of the 15,400 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in a timely manner thanks to a new service model developed by SPG.

SPG used the new service model to extend its partnership with Zibo and boost industry-city convergence.

According to local authorities, the global COVID-19 pandemic and China's dual carbon goals have led to the rising demand of LPG, and Zibo has a large consumption demand for LPG. In order to help the latter solve the problem, SPG's Yantai Port launched a tailor-made service model for Zibo to ensure that the urgently-needed product can be supplied to the city as soon as possible.

The new service model improved trade facilitation while simultaneously lowering customer costs in LPG trade.

SPG's efficient and professional services were praised by Zibo customers. They stated that SPG's integrated development has provided them with significant convenience, and that they plan to expand their cooperation with SPG in the future.

SPG has been leveraging the benefits of integrated development among its ports to enhance trade cooperation in a variety of industries, including crude oil, painite, asphalt, and petroleum coke, with a total trade volume of about 1.5 billion yuan ($222.58 million) so far this year.

Authorities of SPG said that SPG has made tremendous gains since its integrated reform in 2019, and in the future, the group will make the most of the advantages brought by the integrated reform, in a bid to expand its businesses and better serve the regional economy.
