Shandong Port Group (SPG) issued China port industry's first moving source emission list on June 5, ushering the group in new phase of pollution and carbon reduction.

The emission list served as a useful and scientific tool for developing emission reduction strategies. SPG chose Dagang area of Qingdao Port, Shijiu area of Rizhao Port, and Zhifu Bay area of Yantai Port as pilot sites to collect data on air pollutants and greenhouse gas discharged by moving sources such as port machines, collecting and distributing vehicles, and ships in 2020 as the first port enterprise to issue the list. The data is intended to indicate the emission characteristics of various ports, allowing for the development of customized emission reduction strategies.

The group is expected to establish a long-term mechanism for compiling the moving source emission list to estimate the efficiency of pollution and emission reduction and provide referential experience for the port industry.

SPG has been committed to developing in an environmentally friendly and low-carbon way. The Ministry of Port approved the organization to be the first smart port construction pilot in 2020, and it created a fully automated container terminal, the world's first smart air-rail collecting and distributing system, and hydrogen energy application settings.
