Shandong Port Group (SPG) took another step to help Dezhou city improve the commodity industrial chain ecosystem as the Shandong Land-sea Energy Development Co Ltd jointly established by SPG and Deda Group was launched in the city on June 7.

The new company is expected to function as a commodity trade center and supply chain asset management platform by promoting the city's foreign trade and economic cooperation while also expanding commodity trade sectors and channels.

SPG and Dezhou signed a cooperation agreement early last year to begin construction of the Commodity Trade Dezhou Operation Center, which will engage in a trade platform, electronic warehouse receipt service, investment promotion, and financial services in supply chain finance and industrial investment.

SPG, a world-leading port operator established in 2019, has been committed to undertaking national strategies and facilitating Shandong's development in a high-quality way and providing qualified services to its partners. The group operates in 12 business sectors such as shipping, trade, logistics, sci-tech and equipment manufacturing, and has established cooperative relationships with 16 cities around the province to promote the integrated development of ports, industries and cities.

One of the most important phases in SPG's commodities trade arrangement in Shandong was the formation of the Shandong Board of Trade, which is endorsed by SPG. It is the province's only commodity trade platform with a trade business license, assists the group in establishing a single commodity market throughout the province, and has signed cooperation agreements with nine cities and registered four operation centers.
