The 2022 National Automotive Logistics Development Conference kicked off in Yantai on Aug 18, which focused on establishing a platform for cooperation and exchanges, discussing the new development trend, solving major problems that hamper industry development, and better promoting the optimization and upgrading of China's automotive logistics sector.

This year, as China's industrial and supply chains maintain stability, automobile manufacturing enterprises have posted outstanding progress in resuming work and production. At the same time, the country has rolled out a slew of policies to spur automobile consumption, which has brought new opportunities for auto logistics companies and injected strong impetus into Shandong Port Group (SPG)'s commercial vehicle business.

SPG is located in the central area of the port clusters of the Bohai Rim and the Yangtze River Delta Region. It faces South Korea and Japan across the sea, and serves as a node that links the land and the sea. All these geographical advantages have endowed SPG with unique resources to develop auto logistics. SPG has attached great importance to the development of characteristic businesses related to commercial vehicles, and developing Yantai Port into the country's top-grade commercial vehicles logistics base, as well as a logistics hub port for commercial vehicles in northern China. The commercial vehicle throughput in Yantai Port has maintained a fast growth trend, and the number of vehicles transported via the port is expected to exceed 400,000 this year, hitting another record high.

As an auto logistics base of SPG, Yantai Port boasts four specialized berths for ro-ro ships, two general berths, a specialized yard spanning 600,000 cubic meters for commercial vehicles, and more than 200 professional operators. It has nine international ro-ro routes and five domestic ones.
