A new shipping route to Southeast Asia launched by Hong Kong-headquartered SITC International Holdings officially opened at Yantai Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), on Oct 17, which will offer one-stop services to consumers and help Yantai set up a sea passage linking countries and regions in East Asia and Southeast Asia.

The new shipping route starts from Yantai Port and will dock at many major ports at home and abroad such as Shanghai Port and the Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh ports in Vietnam.

The route runs weekly and offers more efficiency, lower costs and better services for local import and export enterprises in Yantai. The route will also help Yantai boost opening-up and high-quality development under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement.

Taking advantage of the new shipping route, Yantai Port will beef up efforts to advance integrated development among the port, city, and local industries in order to boost the city's high-quality development, promote urban and economic transformation and upgrading, and help SPG develop into a world-class sea port operator.
