A China-Asia freight train loaded with 35 containers of iron ore products recently left a railway station in Kazakhstan and arrived at the Alashankou railway station in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

This was the first shipment of ore imports from Kazakhstan handled by Shandong Port Logistics Group.

As the largest and most economically developed country in Central Asia, Kazakhstan boasts abundant ore resources and is one of the biggest international suppliers of ore products. In April, the company's delegation visited Central Asia and inaugurated an overseas warehouse in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The move led to the delivery of some 500 containers of goods such as palm oil, firebrick and petroleum detection equipment from Kazakhstan to China.

To further expand its business presence in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, the group's Xinjiang branch has worked with Qingdao Port Logistics Company to develop ore products. The Xinjiang branch has since rolled out customized logistics solutions that have helped improve the Central Asia-East Asia ore import transport channel.

The Xinjiang branch will next work with the group's other entities to expand its businesses in Central Asia and build a more convenient and smoother international logistics corridor between Central Asia and East Asia.
