The first 100,000-ton crude oil terminal in Dongying Port, Bohai Bay, was put into operation on Nov 15, when the oil tanker Vesna from Singapore successfully docked at the terminal.

The crude oil terminal is a key construction project in Dongying, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province. The terminal for 100,000-ton oil tankers has received a total investment of 800 million yuan ($110.46 million) and occupies 636 meters of coastline.

It is designed for an annual throughput of 10.3 million metric tons of cargo such as crude oil, naphtha, toluene, and other liquefied products.

The terminal has improved the services of Dongying Port, which is part of Shangdong Port Group, and 100,000-ton foreign trade ships from the Middle East, Malaysia, Singapore and other places can now sail directly to Dongying Port.
