The container vessel FEBE, operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), achieved a successful handling of over 19,450 TEUs at the QQCT berth in Qingdao Port on Dec 22.

This meant that the port has handled 2 million TEUs from MSC in 2023.

Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao Port has consistently provided high-quality, efficient and convenient services to major shipping companies and helped them expand their route layouts and capacity investment.

It has also been establishing strategic partnerships around the world and building a global end-to-end supply chain and ecosystem for ports and shipping.

On March 22, the world's largest container vessel, the MSC IRINA, made its maiden voyage to Qingdao Port.

From January to December, MSC added five new routes to Qingdao Port, with over 50 cargo ships handling over 20,000 TEUs per voyage or vessel.

To better serve large MSC container vessels, the QQCT berth has leveraged its advantages in planning, central control and on-site operations to further improve the efficiency of operation of ships.

In the newly opened India-Pakistan route, QQCT has set a new efficiency record of handling 198.89 natural containers per hour. In the operation of the MSC AMBRA, its efficiency of 305 natural containers per hour broke the global record of the "2M" Alliance — Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping.
