Trial future communities to improve residents‘ life quality

The concept of future communities – with their focus on harmony, green development, intelligence and sharing – are designed to improve the quality of life of residents, according to local officials.

Taizhou

Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province will test out future community construction in five local communities, local media reported on July 16.

Dongpu community in Huangyan district

With an investment of 7.8 billion yuan ($1.12 billion), the 30.9-hectare Dongpu community will be rebuilt into a water-themed garden community, which is expected to benefit 7,035 residents and attract another 1,764 professionals.

Fengqi community in Luqiao district

With an investment of 6.83 billion yuan, the 25.3-hectare Fengqi community will be rebuilt into a role model in business innovation and integration, which is expected to benefit 4,900 residents and attract another 2,300 professionals.

Liujiaojing community in Linhai county

With an investment of 6.32 billion yuan, the 22.98-hectare Liujiaojing community will be rebuilt into an hihgly livable neighborhood with scenic views, which is expected to benefit 6,801 residents and attract another 917 professionals.

Dongfeng community in Yuhuan county

With an investment of 6.16 billion yuan, the 28.5-hectare Dongfeng will be reconstructed into a role model of intelligent community, which is expected to benefit roughly 7,000 residents and attract more than 1,000 professionals.

Huangtanshu community in Xianju county

With an investment of 6.39 billion yuan, the 22.2-hectare Huangtanshu will be rebuilt into a poetry-themed garden community project, which is expected to benefit 5,299 residents and attract 1,190 professionals.

Huzhou

And three places in Huzhou were also included in a "future community" construction pilot program.

They three places are Changdong community in the Southern Taihu Lake New District, Yu village in Anji county, and Qianxi community in Deqing county. 

The pilot area of Changdong community will cover an area of 23 hectares, and is expected to bring in roughly 5,000 skilled workers in a variety of fields.

Featuring smart services and low-carbon ecofriendly buildings, the community is designed to be a "future community" where high-end talent congregates. 

Meanwhile, the pilot area in Yu village will span an area of 36.4 hectares, benefiting around 1,200 villagers. It is expected to become a rural "future community" and attract 800 skilled workers with an investment of 400 million yuan ($57.97 million). 

A total of 20.3-hectare area in Qianxi community, Deqing county will also be included in the pilot program, attracting 2.943 billion yuan in investment. More than 4,000 residents are expected to benefit from the project.
