China National Institute of Standardization to build branch in Jiaxing

The China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) decided to build a branch in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, Jiaxing Daily reported on July 28.

The news was released at a signing ceremony attended by CNIS, the Jiaxing Municipal Government and the Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University in Zhejiang.

CNIS will adopt the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region and promote cooperation and exchange in the region using its theoretical achievements.

It will focus on practical industrial development in Jiaxing and the characteristics of the YRD region to create a replicable "Jiaxing model" and accelerate the commercialization of sci-tech achievements.

The institute will also integrate various technological resources to offer professional services, cultivate professionals in standardization for Jiaxing, and construct a big data cloud platform for intelligent connected vehicles in the city.

CNIS is directly subordinate to the State Administration of Market Regulation. As a national social service institution, it mainly addresses the global, strategic and comprehensive standardization issues in national economy and social development.

CNIS has formulated or participated in the formulation of more than 4,500 national standards to date.
