Female entrepreneurs and politicians in Zhejiang province teamed up to establish the Livestreaming Alliance of Zhejiang Brands in Hangzhou on Aug 8.

The alliance is sponsored by silk maker Wensli Group and Wasu Media Network Co and backed by the most influential female associations and entrepreneur clubs in Zhejiang. The Wensli Livestreaming Center will present regular shows hosted by popular female entrepreneurs to promote sales of local brands.

"The new consumption model represented by livestreaming and e-commerce will inject new momentum into regional economic recovery. The new alliance initiated by female entrepreneurs will set a good example for companies in Hangzhou and Zhejiang," said a local authority at the unveiling ceremony.

He said the alliance will help Hangzhou become "the No.1 Chinese e-commerce and livestreaming city" and praised the Wensli Livestreaming Center for working toward this goal.

"E-commerce and livestreaming is part of our long-term vision," said Tu Hongyan, one of the founders of the alliance and chairwoman of Wensli Group, the largest silk maker in Hangzhou in terms of sales revenue.

Tu said female entrepreneurs should unite to promote Zhejiang brands in China and abroad via the Wensli Livestreaming Center. She believes that the growing influence of local brands will create more employment and consumption.

The Wensli Livestreaming Center boasts advanced facilities and has cultivated and signed agreements with 64 seasoned live-streamers. As of Aug 10, it has about 2 million subscribers.
