A century-old house in Shengzhou city, East China's Zhejiang province, was recently moved about 55 meters to make room for the construction of a dam.

The riverside house, built during the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), occupies an area of around 500 square meters. It has a Hui-style courtyard decorated with exquisite wood carvings, stone carvings, and murals. Shengzhou authorities designated it as a cultural protection site in 2002.
