Yuan Jiajun, Party secretary of East China's Zhejiang province, visited Jiashan, a demonstration zone of eco-friendly integrated development in Yangtze River Delta (YRD), on Sept 11, local media reported.

During his visit, Yuan learned about the construction of the Jiashan demonstration zone and Xiangfudang Sci-tech Green Valley.

The innovation center is the key project in the Jiashan demonstration zone, which has secured several high-end projects.

Yuan said that local authorities should further improve planning on the two venues and accelerate the development of the innovation center into a driver of innovative development in YRD.

He then visited Zhonghu village on the same day to learn about the design of the Jiangnan Watertown Living Room, which is jointly built by Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai. The village, which has a favorable living environment, is located at the intersection of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai.

The Party secretary said that the Jiangnan Watertown Living Room should be created with the highest standards so as to exhibit the high-quality integrated development in the YRD.

He stressed that the demonstration zone, as the breakthrough project of the national strategy for integrated development of YRD, should focus on environmental protection by adapting infrastructure and industrial projects to local natural environment and gather more innovative resources.

Yuan also promised to offer his full support to the development of the Jiashan demonstration zone into a place that boasts a pleasant natural environment, a vibrant innovation scene and international competitiveness.
