Taizhou's efforts to attract high-profile professionals to work in the city seem to be paying dividends.

In May last year, the city was included in a provincial pilot program to build a series of facilities to accommodate top-tier talent, including academicians.

On Sept 18, the facility, named "The Home of Academicians in Taizhou", along with seven similar facilities across the province, passed the assessment organized by the provincial government.

A total of 43 academicians from home and abroad are set to work in Taizhou. The city has also reached cooperation agreements with another 28 academicians.

Headquartered in Shenxianju, a national 5A scenic spot in Xianju county, the Home of Academicians in Taizhou is designed to be a place for academicians to rest, conduct academic exchange and hold business meetings.

In addition, 25 other places including Dachen Island in Jiaojiang district, Shitang town in Wenling city and Shepan Island in Sanmen county have also been selected as activity bases for top-tier professionals.

Taizhou has also allocated a special fund to attract more academicians. A certain amount of subsidies will be offered to those who partner with local enterprises or choose to start a business in the city.
