The Yangtze River Delta (YRD) Handicrafts Institute in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province was inaugurated on Sept 27, local media reported.

Covering an area of 2,200 square meters, the YRD Handicrafts Institute helps promote the revitalization of the handicraft industry in the YRD through talent training and cultural research.

The institute has a handicrafts exhibition center, a handicraftsmen training center, six studios, and rest areas.

There are currently about 100 handicraft masters in the institute.

The Jiaxing Handicrafts Exhibition Center was opened to the public for the first time on the same day. The center showcases more than 80 handiworks by State-level, provincial-level and municipal-level masters from around the country.
