A raft of activities aiming to promote the development of services for intellectual property – or IP – for the animations sector was launched on Oct 3 in the city of Quzhou, in East China's Zhejiang province, according to local officials.

Another event was held by the Quzhou Animation and Cultural Industry Association on the same day, in order to develop an animations and cultural industry platform in line with the need for developing IP protection.

A 2020 release Chinese animation called the Fog Hill of Five Elements (《雾山五行》) -- which was widely acclaimed – brought widespread attention to the work of the Samsasa Animation Studio from Quzhou, which many say has created an amazing and distinctive national style.

Lin Xin, the founder (producer) of the animation, who was born in Quzhou in the 1980s, has been praised by netizens for "injecting soul into the creative work of Chinese animation".

At the event site, guests gave speeches on "How to build Quzhou's urban IP in the future", while some of the best animation content was selected to be shown.
