The eagerly anticipated 2020 Longyou Grottoes International Music Festival is to be staged on Oct 14-16 in Quzhou city, in East China's Zhejiang province, according to the organizers.

A raft of renowned musicians and musical performance groups from home and aboard is expected to provide concertgoers with a ravishing  audio-visual feast that will feature rich and diverse music styles.

Pianist Lang Lang, who is one of the most active and beloved Chinese musicians on the world stage, will give performances at the event.

Concert pianist Lang Lang was born on June 14, 1982, in Shenyang, capital of China's Northeast Liaoning province.

He began playing piano at the age of 3 and had soared to stardom by 13, when he won top prize at the Tchaikovsky International Young Musicians' Competition.

In 1997, at the age 15, Lang Lang began his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia in the United States. He is increasingly well known around the world -- to people beyond the narrower confines of the world of classical music -- for his concert performances, television appearances, albums and soundtracks.

Lang Lang is not just an internationally celebrated soloist, but also a UN messenger of peace with a special focus on global education. Fans say he has done much to encourage children and young musicians to take an interest in classical music.

Another musician -- Kyriakos Petras -- considered one of the best violinists in traditional Greek music, is expected to give a brilliant  performance during the music festival.

In addition, Du Rusong -- a professor of Chinese flute at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music and vice President of the Bamboo Flute Association of the Chinese Musicians Association -- and other musical groups will have a "cloud cooperation" session with Kyriakos Petras.
