A total of 22 government service items, including the registration of households, social security, medical insurance, and market entities, can now be handled in both Taizhou and Yangpu district, Shanghai, according to local media reports.

The services will be mutually recognized in both Taizhou and Yangpu.

The move is in response to the central government's call in September to promote inter-provincial government services and further streamline government administration.

According to the document issued by the General Office of the State Council, China will allow 140 common government service items to be handled across provinces.

The document clarified that priority should be given to services concerning people's livelihood and the interests of enterprises. It also called for more administrative items to be processed online.

Six administrative places in Taizhou have reached agreements with 14 places in seven different provinces to offer inter-provincial government services.

Taizhou plans to continue strengthening its government service ties with Shanghai and pursuing cooperation with provinces such as Guizhou and Anhui in an effort to provide more convenience for migrant workers to the city, as well as to local residents working outside the city.
