Forum seeks high-profile talent recruitment

The inaugural Word Youth Doctor South Taihu Lake Forum commenced in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, Oct 24, according to local media reports.

Ma Xiaohui, secretary of the Communist Party of China Huzhou municipal committee, addressed the opening ceremony.

Ma pointed out that Huzhou is a city with a host of cultural and talent resources and is embedded with the "gene" of innovation and entrepreneurship, adding that as an open and inclusive city, it is emerging as a magnet for talents.

In recent years, the city has made great efforts to expand its talent pool by leveraging its geographical advantages due to its location in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, a region encompassing the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, and Shanghai municipality. 

The city has been rated as an outstanding city in talent introduction in Zhejiang for seven consecutive years. 

Huzhou is ushering in an unprecedented development period and needs talents more than ever, Ma said. He hoped that more people will invest in or start up businesses in Huzhou, pledging that the local government will spare no efforts to optimize the business climate and offer the best government services.

The opening ceremony also witnessed 12 young doctors signing agreements to work in Huzhou.

Dignitaries including Zhang Jing'an, an academician at the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, and Shen Shuzhong, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also delivered keynote speeches at the ceremony.
