Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang hosted a forum on Nov 3 to discuss the marine economy, local media reported.

The forum was attended by more than 100 high-profile professionals from home and abroad.

He Zhongwei, mayor of Zhoushan, said, after discussing the city's economic and social development, that Zhoushan has always prioritized human resources.

He noted that the forum is expected to serve as a platform for young professionals seeking investment and starting businesses in Zhoushan.

Three academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering delivered keynote speeches on intelligent oceans, innovation in marine engineering technology, and the current status of the eco-friendly marine chemical industry.

Other attendees shared insights into the future development trends of marine big data and overseas communications.

In addition, eight young engineers received offers from the Zhoushan Intelligent Ocean Industry Engineer Collaborative Innovation Center.
