The 2020 China (Ningbo) Food Expo will open on Nov 13 in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province and is slated to run until Nov 16.

Since its inception in 2005, the expo has become an effective platform for boosting cooperation and exchange in China's food industry and a popular annual food event for residents in the region.

Covering an area of 35,000 square meters, the expo will feature 1,200 booths divided into seven pavilions, showcasing thousands of food products from home and abroad.

Exhibitors from places such as Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture in Jilin province, Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, Guizhou province, and Kuche county in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region will make appearances at the expo and showcase their specialties.

The aforementioned places have been paired with Ningbo under the "pairing assistance" program launched by the central government, which requires more prosperous provinces and municipalities in East China to lend support to less developed regions of the country.

In the same pavilion, a zone specially designed to display time-honored brands from the cities of Ningbo, Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Zhoushan and Taizhou in Zhejiang is expected to be a highlight of this year's event.

Also of note is a special pavilion which will feature imported food from countries such as Russia, Romania, Serbia and Turkey.
