Walk in the fresh air amid Quzhou's rural oxygen bars

The meteorological bureau in East China's Zhejiang province recently released a list of co-called "rural oxygen bars" – places where the air is fresh and pure – and provided weather forecasts  for leisure travels and holidays, local officials said.

They said that three rural bars from Quzhou city made the list -- Huiping town in Qujiang district, Shuanghefeng village in Zhangcun town in the county-level city of Jiangshan, and Qixi town in Kaihua County.

A "rural oxygen bar" requires high negative oxygen ion content in air, with the annual average negative oxygen ion concentration reaching over 1,000 per cubic centimeter. Officials said they must have more than three months of suitable climate conditions.

In making their evaluations for the list, a benign environment, convenient transport links and leisure tourism facilities and a relatively comprehensive meteorological disaster system were other factors that were also considered.
