Since 2018, Juhua Group Corporation has been actively helping Loushanhou village – administered by Quzhou city in East China's Zhejiang province -- to strengthen its economy and boost its rural revitalization by constructing and renovating buildings, according to local media reports on Dec 29.

Relying on its own cultural resources and excellent natural environment, the village is developing leisure tourism centering on the demand for people to visit ancient villages.

"In the past two years, homestays and farmhouses have gradually opened in the village, but the hardware products and support facilities cannot keep up," said Hu Xiaowen, a cadre member from Juhua.

After investigating, the group decided to invest 3 million yuan ($459,770) and at the same time arranged for other funds to build a village service center, which operates exhibitions and sales of agricultural products, handles conferences and runs a local store.

Over the past two years, six villages have enjoyed support from Juhua Group's trade union in their rejuvenation, local officials said.

They said the trade union has issued more than 2 million yuan in coupons for the villages. This initiative has stimulated the local economy, particularly the homestay tourism industry, boosting incomes.

Juhua Group Corporation was established in May 1958 with the name Quzhou Chemical Factory. In August 1984, it changed its name to Quzhou Chemical Corporation. The then State Economic and Trade Commission then gave the green light in 1993 for it to be renamed Quzhou Chemical Corporation Juhua Group and finally in May 2017, its name was changed again to Juhua Group Corporation.
