A new type of face mask using nano technology which recently hit the market -- in Quzhou city, in East China's Zhejiang province -- can be washed multiple times, a spokesman for the manufacturer said.

According local officials, testing has shown that the filtration efficiency of the KN95 PTFE nano-film mask can reach 97 percent.

Based on an inspection report from the manufacturer Juhua Group Corporation – based in Quzhou -- the mask has met the national criteria for medical protective masks and it is resistant to strong acid and alkali, heat and cold, is non-viscous, and non-water-absorbing.

Juhua Group says what is particularly useful is that the product can be washed many times and retain its efficiency.

Juhua Group Corporation was established in May 1958 under the name Quzhou Chemical Factory. In August 1984, it changed its name to Quzhou Chemical Corporation and in May 2017, its name was again changed to Juhua Group Corporation.

It has been included in China's top 500 enterprise list many times and is home to a group of innovation and entrepreneurship platforms.

These include a State-level enterprise technical center, the National Fluoro-materials Engineering and Technology Research Center, the China (Quzhou) New Chemical Materials Industrial Park, the Zhejiang Juhua Sino-Russian Science and Technology Cooperation Park and a postdoctoral research station.
