Located in western part of East China's Zhejiang province in the upper reaches of the Qiantang River,Quzhou has lead cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region in terms of its joint efforts with surrounding cities., according to a top local official. 

Xu Wenguang, Party secretary of Quzhou, said during an interview that the construction of a new development pattern for Quzhou has brought great opportunities for deepening inter-provincial regional cooperation, but also established new requirements for the city.

The YRD is the triangle-shaped megalopolis generally comprising the areas of Shanghai city, southern Jiangsu province and northern Zhejiang province in East China.

Quzhou wants to pave the way for the city's modernization, also the internationalization of dominant industries, coupled with development integration - as well to examine options to forge closer links with the YRD region.
