Since 2017, the prefecture-level city of Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province, has been actively upgrading its consumption environment, insisting that shopping venues be functional, efficient and harmonious, according to local media reports on March 15.

In 2020, there were a total of 8,434 consumption units in the city that met the provincial standards for worry-free and convenient consumption units. These complete 120.49 percent of the provincial tasks of cultivating 7,000 worry-free consumption units.

"In order to provide better services, on the one hand, we need to enhance the initiative and the consciousness of enterprises to resolve consumer disputes and solve problems at the source of the outbreak of the problems," said an official from the Quzhou Market Supervision Bureau.

"On the other hand, we must guard the checkpoints, take responsibility, and protect consumer rights in advance supervision and guidance."
