The cities of Quzhou in Zhejiang province and Jinan, capital of Shandong province – both located in East China – have long laid claim as heritage places for Confucianism, the former being the home of the great philosopher's descendants and the latter his own hometown.

Now, a cultural event to promote the brand of Quzhou city, as the "Home of Southern Confucianism · A Model City of Virtue" has taken place in Jinan.

It was held on April 1 in Jinan and many elements and decorations featuring Quzhou appeared in scenic spots and streets in Jinan from March 30, which provided eye-catching sights for Jinan locals.

At the event, acclaimed Chinese actress Zhou Xun and badminton world champion Huang Yaqiong, met local residents in Jinan via video to jointly promote their hometown, Quzhou.
