The development of the solar power industry over the past two decades has been widely seen to have provided China with increasing amounts of clean energy and – as expected – greatly reduced its carbon emissions.

Meanwhile, just as energy drives economic development and helps improve people's lives, so has Quzhou city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – pledged to introduce more photovoltaic power plants while increasing its use of clean energy.

"The market space for solar photovoltaic is very promising," said Ye Zhiqing, chairman of a local solar power company.

"It can rapidly reduce manufacturing costs and the continuous improvement of photovoltaic conversion rate – the green electricity generated by monocrystal silicon photovoltaic cells – has been able to achieve affordable access to the internet in places with sufficient sunlight," Ye added.

Founded in 2018, Yidao New Energy Technology (Quzhou) Co Ltd is headquartered in Quzhou city. The company is engaged in producing high efficiency photovoltaic cells, module packaging technology, system applications research and development and manufacturing. The first phase of the company's capital raising saw it attract total investment of 800 million yuan ($123.34 million).

"In the next three years, Yidao New Energy is expected to produce 30 gigawatt batteries and rank among the top 10 producers in terms of scale in China," said a senior executive with the company.
