Quzhou's GDP hits $13.53 billion in H1

The seventh session of the seventh Quzhou Municipal People's Congress kicked off on Aug 5 in the prefecture-level city of Quzhou, located in East China's Zhejiang province.

The 276 deputies who attended the meeting listened to a report on the city's economic and social development in the first half of the year, delivered by Gao Yi, the acting mayor.

In the six months the city and its administrative area's economy was reportedly stable with regional GDP at 87.43 billion yuan ($13.53 billion), up 13.2 percent on the same period last year.

The general public budget revenue increased by 21.9 percent year-on-year, while per capita income increased by 13.9 percent and 16.7 percent, respectively in the urban and rural areas.

In the second half, plans are for Quzhou to focus on seven areas – to continue its expansion as a strong industrial city, attract more investment projects, accelerate its development, boost resident's incomes, implement practical measures that enhance the lives of its citizens, ensure risks are prevented and improve the performance and effectiveness of its cadres.
