The city of Quzhou – in East China's Zhejiang province – recently showcased some of its innovative smart shopping services, with such head-turners as a "salesman robot" peaking the interest of customers at a downtown shopping mall, according to local media reports on Oct 18.  

One local gave her enthusiastic feedback after experiencing the smart services, saying they were much more convenient.

A salesman usually recommends something he wants to sell me, not something I want to buy," she said.  "With the robot, the service is much more customer-friendly." 

The smart services are reportedly said to not only provide a better service for consumers, but also boost the enthusiasm for shopping of residents, who want to try something new.
