More than 20 reading-related activities including lectures, reading salons and book exhibitions will be staged in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province from Nov 19 to 21, local authorities said.

Over 100 publishers will participate in the reading events and showcase more than 50,000 books.

The Quzhou Book Mall in Kecheng district will be the main venue for the event. In addition, 100 sub-venues across the city including Xinhua Bookstores and public reading rooms will be involved.

Authorities have been actively exploring ways to promote reading among local residents in recent years.

One initiative is "Lu Ke Yun Shang", an online reading service platform which was recently launched by the city. Through the platform, readers can access various digital reading materials and attend online lectures related to reading and talent training.
