The area occupied by modern-day Quzhou city in East China's Zhejiang province has a history of more than 6,000 years of recorded human habitation, while the existing city itself is some 1,800 years old.

Quzhou officials said that the area's growing future communities – a new type of residential model, with their focus on harmony, green development, intelligence and communal sharing – are designed to improve the life quality of its people, according to local media reports on Dec 29, 2021.

Among all the future communities taking shape in the city, the Lixian and Luming future communities are considered the two most outstanding role models.

There are plans for three themed parks, an outdoor fitness station, a community-level clinic, an activity center for the elderly and a leisure complex where residents can watch outdoor movies or concerts together.

"We have already sensed the harmonious surroundings of the future community before we moved in. We really look forward to interesting neighbors, rich leisure activities and a wonderful life there," said one of the future residents.
