Zhejiang Minghui Fruit and Vegetables Distribution Co Ltd in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has been participating in the transportation of daily necessities to Shanghai since March, local media reported on April 14.

In addition to vegetables, the company has also purchased meat, fish and more to send to Shanghai. So far, the company has sent 136,000 packages of supplies to Shanghai, which can feed 136,000 families of three for about a week.

The company has been in contact with Shanghai government departments since the end of March and delivering food according to orders every day.

"At the peak, 20 vehicles loaded with a total of 600 metric tons of food were dispatched in a day. Since March 31, 66 vehicles loaded with nearly 2,000 tons of supplies have been dispatched," said He Chenran, the company's general manager.

To guarantee the market supply during the pandemic prevention and control period in Shanghai, the Quzhou Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives arranged for five enterprises to raise daily necessities such as grain, oil, rice, noodles, meat, vegetables and eggs to support Shanghai's fight against the pandemic.

On March 31, Li Xiangru, general manager of Zhejiang Juxiang Food Co Ltd, undertook the task of ensuring Shanghai's supply of noodles. More than 800 tons of noodles have been delivered to the city so far.
