​Sturgeon industry creates wealth in Quzhou

The sturgeon breeding and processing base located in Shishi township, Kecheng district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province is ranked first in Asia in terms of caviar production.

The base was built by Quzhou Xunlong Aquatic Food Technology Co Ltd in April 2013 and is the largest sturgeon processing center in China. Up to 200 metric tons of caviar can be produced here each year.

Kaluga Queen Caviar produced by the company has been exported to more than 20 countries including France, Germany, Spain, the United States, and Japan.

Kaluga Queen Caviar has been served at many important occasions such as G20 banquet and Oscar Awards Ceremony.

In addition, the caviar industry has provided jobs for 200 local villagers and has greatly increased their incomes.

"I can earn 60,000 to 70,000 yuan ($9,154-10,680) a year here and get a comprehensive employee benefits package," said Yang Chaojun, a worker of the base.
