Zhejiang province has designated April 10 to 16 as Bird-Loving Week every year to raise people's awareness of the importance of protecting birds.

Bird-Loving Week was first established in 1981 to protect birds migrating between China and Japan.

Birds play an important role in maintaining the stability of ecosystems where they are responsible for the transport of seeds and nutrients.

Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, Zhejiang, is home to more than 150 kinds of birds, according to the resource management department of the Jiangshan forestry bureau.
