Quzhou Microquanta New Energy Technology Co Ltd in Quzhou, Zhejiang province has launched an alpha perovskite solar cell module and built the first perovskite mass-production facility, local media reported on May 21.

As a synthetic material, perovskite was first applied in the field of photovoltaic power generation in 2009 due to its excellent performance and low cost.

The alpha perovskite solar cell module adopts the solution printing technology independently developed by the company, which boasts high power, stability, a low temperature coefficient and a slight hot spot effect, according to Yao Jizhong, chairperson of Quzhou Microquanta New Energy Technology Co Ltd.

It takes just 10,000 seconds to turn perovskite raw materials into alpha perovskite solar cell modules on the company's 100MW production line.

Thanks to the ultra-low energy consumption of the perovskite solution printing process, the workshop's annual power consumption will not exceed 9 million kWh, while the product generates 100 million kWh of power annually, said Yan Bu, general manager of Quzhou Microquanta New Energy Technology Co Ltd.

After the mass production of perovskite modules, more advanced photovoltaic technology can be used to achieve carbon neutrality, said Wang Yiheng, director of the Zhejiang Energy Testing Center.
