Quzhou Sports Center wins intl architecture award

Quzhou Sports Center in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, recently was awarded the Jury Winner of Architizer A+ Award in the Sports & Recreation category, local media reported on July 6.

The Architizer A+ Award, as one of the world's most influential architectural awards, is known as the Oscar of architecture. It is committed to recognizing the best architecture and product designs each year.

The Quzhou Sports Center located at No 9 Qianjiang Avenue is currently the largest earth-sheltered building in the world. It covers a total area of 491 mu (32.73 hectares) and its main building includes a 30,000-seat stadium, a 10,000-seat gymnasium stadium, a 2,000-seat swimming pool and a training hall.

The Quzhou Sports Center not only meets public fitness needs, but can also hold large-scale events such as commercial concerts and sporting events.
