Kaihua's tourism sector thrives

The tourism sector in Kaihua county, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province has been booming as the school holidays have gotten underway.

To help boost the sector's growth, a series of policies and measures have been implemented in the county.

To inject vitality into the recovery of the tourism sector, primary, middle school, high school and university students can visit Kaihua for free during the summer holiday, said Zhang Guoyou, Party chief of the culture, sport, radio, television and tourism bureau of Kaihua.

Kaihua's A-level scenic spots such as Qianjiangyuan National Forest Park, Gutian Mountain State-level Natural Reserve, Jinxing village and Xiayu future village have recently received hordes of visitors.

"Recently, we received an average of about 1,000 tourists every day. On July 1, we received more than 50 groups with 3,768 people, a new record high," said Mao Xiaojuan, deputy general manager of Kaihua Liangshan Investment Group Co Ltd.

In addition, camping and fruit picking have become the new trends in the county. Data showed that the average daily sales of waxberries in Xingyang village, Chihuai town, Kaihua reached more than 850 kilograms. Meanwhile, the Xugeng Xiazhou Campsite has received more than 30 groups of tourists and generated a tourism revenue of more than 100,000 yuan ($14,932.82).
