Yangtze Delta Region Institute (Quzhou) starts operating

The opening ceremony of the Yangtze Delta Region Institute (Quzhou) of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China was held on July 15 in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, according to local media reports.

The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China signed an agreement with Quzhou on Jan 5, 2020 to jointly build the Yangtze Delta Research Institute (Quzhou) of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.

The institute received a total of 1.22 billion yuan ($180.9 million) in investment. Construction started on Sept 30, 2020 and included a digital technology innovation training center, a training exchange center, and a logistics service center.

The institute has already established eight research institutes, two research centers and two teams, which focus on key fields such as radio and intelligent perception, artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain.

In addition, the opening ceremony of the Zhejiang Radio Industry Base was held on the same day.

With help from the Yangtze Delta Region Institute (Quzhou), the base strives to become a pioneer area for the development of radio industry base in Zhejiang province and the Yangtze River Delta region with the goal of becoming a radio industry base integrating scientific research, application, manufacturing and services.
