A needle mushroom production area receiving 120 million yuan ($17.76 million) in investment from Zhejiang Junyuan Biotechnology Co Ltd in the Jiangshan Edible Mushroom Industrial Park in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, started operating on July 20.

It can produce 120,000 bottles of needle mushrooms a day, with a daily output of 60 metric tons.

In recent years, the edible mushroom industry of Jiangshan has been listed as a provincial demonstration project of rural revitalization, and the city has obtained 80 million yuan in financial support to build the Jiangshan Edible Mushroom Industrial Park.

With a total of 530 million yuan in investment, construction on the Jiangshan Edible Mushroom Industrial Park will last until 2023. Five first-phase projects have been completed and put into operation already, with an annual production capacity of 32,000 tons of edible mushrooms.

To improve the industrial chain of the industrial park, it has introduced a food processing production line of Zhejiang Songxing Food Co Ltd with an expected annual output of 2,600 tons of edible mushrooms, and a processing center of Zhejiang Junxin Agricultural Co Ltd with an expected annual output of 5,000 tons of edible mushrooms.

In addition, Zhejiang Songxing Food Co Ltd plans to rent land from the surrounding villages, which can increase collective income by 200,000 yuan for each of the six surrounding villages every year.

Zhejiang Junxin Agricultural Co Ltd encourages villages to build plantation areas for the mushrooms, and the company will provide seeds and purchase the mature mushrooms. It is expected to increase the annual incomes of 40 villages in the city by 250,000 yuan each and provide jobs for 100 people.

After the completion of the edible mushroom industrial park, the total output value of the whole industrial chain is expected to reach 384 million yuan.
