​Spring grain in Quzhou sees bumper harvest

The sown area of spring grain in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, totaled 42,100 mu (2,806 hectares) this year, reaching a total output of 8,900 metric tons, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

This year's spring grain production saw a leap both in sown area and total output, soaring 46.77 percent and 41.69 percent, respectively, over the same period last year.

Wheat, broad beans and pea beans are the main spring grain crops in the city.

This year, the sown area of wheat reached 9,100 mu, an increase of 22.19 percent year-on-year, and the output was 2,100 tons, up 25.42 percent year-on-year.

The sown area of broad beans and pea beans expanded 8.65 percent year-on-year to 14,100 mu, and the output was 2,300 tons, an increase of 8.83 percent year-on-year.
