Zhejiang's power consumption sees robust growth from Jan to Jul

Power consumption in East China's Zhejiang province rose by 11.05 percent year-on-year in July, 4.75 percentage points higher than the national growth rate, according to State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co.

Figures show that the electricity consumption - a key barometer of economic activity - in Zhejiang's primary, secondary and tertiary industries all achieved positive growth in July. The increase in electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was especially pronounced as its saw double-digit growth. Among the 11 cities in the province, seven cities, including Hangzhou, Ningbo, Jinhua, and Zhoushan, saw a year-on-year increase of more than 10 percent in electricity consumption in July.

From Jan to Jul, power consumption in the core industries of Hangzhou's digital economy increased significantly with the index breaking through 120 at the end of July.

China's electricity consumption data from January to July was recently released and it showed a V-shaped rebound.
