The first 8.18 automobile fair held in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, concluded on Aug 22. A total of 826 cars were sold during the four-day event, worth about 120 million yuan ($17.33 million).

More than 400 orders were from outside the city, worth about 40 million yuan.

In addition to the car exhibition, this fair carried out livestreams on online platforms such as Douyin. Nearly 20,000 people watched the livestream of the fair's opening ceremony.

"The combination of online and offline exhibitions brought us great convenience, and the event offered strong discounts, so I bought a new energy vehicle," said Mr Xu, a Quzhou resident.
