Quzhou pursues digital manufacturing

According to the Quzhou economy and information technology bureau, the revenue of Quzhou's manufacturing industry of the digital economy hit 20.78 billion yuan ($3 billion) from January to June, a year-on-year growth of 38.1 percent and ranking third in Zhejiang province in terms of growth rate.

The added value of the manufacturing industry of the digital economy reached 3.66 billion yuan, up 26.2 percent year-on-year and ranking second in the province in terms of growth rate.

The city has also seen results in the creation of intelligent factories and digital workshops.

So far, the city has built one provincial-level future factory, 31 provincial intelligent factories and digital workshops, and 16 provincial-level pilot demonstration enterprises for the integrated development of new-generation information technology and the manufacturing industry.

As a pilot cultivation enterprise of the future factory in Longyou county, Vinda Paper (Zhejiang) Co Ltd has increased machine efficiency by nearly 20 percent and reduced unit energy consumption by more than 20 percent through digital upgrades.

In the newly built "5G+ future factory", a single machine can produce 35,000 metric tons of paper for daily use annually, said Yang Zhifu, deputy director of Vinda Paper (Zhejiang) Co Ltd.

Production capacity will be increased from the current 250,000 tons to 350,000 tons, with an output value of about 4.5 billion yuan, after the completion of the fourth phase of enterprise construction, Yang added.
