Melamine industry thrives in Tongcun town

Tongcun town in Kaihua county, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has acquired wealth from the melamine industry in recent years.

In 2017, the town started construction on a melamine industrial park, with a total investment of 90 million yuan ($12.96 million). So far, 11 enterprises have set up operations in the industrial park, which has has created more than 1,200 jobs.

Zhejiang Wanchen Packaging Technology Co Ltd, a Hong Kong-funded enterprise, set up operations in the industrial park in 2019 and is one of two above-designated-size enterprises in the park.

Li Li, a resident of Tongcun town, can earn more than 5,000 yuan per month working for Zhejiang Wanchen Packaging Technology Co Ltd.

The company currently has more than 90 employees, 90 percent of which are locals.

In addition, to solve problems related to accommodation for out-of-town employees, Tongcun town invested 6 million yuan to build a talent apartment in 2020.
