A microfilm titled The 43rd Hour shot in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province recently won four awards for Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Screenplay and Best Actor at the 9th Asia Microfilm Art Festival, local media reported on Sept 22.

The Asia Microfilm Art Festival was founded in 2013. The "Golden Begonia Award" set up by the festival is the most influential microfilm award in China. This year's festival received a total of 5,327 works from China and more than 40 international works from other countries including Canada, Iran and Spain.

All scenes of The 43rd Hour were filmed in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou. The film was released in July 2021, and tells the story of a head of a local police station fighting against gang crimes.

In recent years, the Jiangshan micro film industry has seen a vigorous development. In 2018, the Zhejiang Microfilm Awards were held in Gengdu town, and Gengdu town was designated as the "Zhejiang Microfilm Shooting Base". The Zhejiang Microfilm Competition is held in Jiangshan every year, drawing an increasing number of filmmakers.
