Xianglong Agricultural Development Co in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has introduced a new way for local farmers to make money – growing giant clitocybe.

The company's giant clitocybe production and planting base is currently the largest in China. The giant clitocybe produced by the company now has an 80-percent market share in Zhejiang, said Huang Gang, the person in charge of the company.

The base currently supplies 1,500 kilograms of giant clitocybe to the market every day.

The annual output value of the company's edible mushroom research and production base has increased from more than 3 million yuan ($421,548) to more than 15 million yuan since its establishment in March 2016.

More than 100 farmers in surrounding areas have obtained employment with the company, receiving an annual income of more than 50,000 yuan per capita.
