Tourism sector thrives in Quzhou during National Day holiday

Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province received more than 1.35 million tourists during the seven-day National Day holiday ending on Oct 7, according to official data.

During this period, 43.5 percent of tourists stayed overnight in the city, up 6.9 percent year-on-year. A total of 498,000 tourists chose to stay overnight in the countryside, an increase of 0.6 percent year-on-year.

Various performances were held in the city over the holiday. According to preliminary estimates, the immersive performance of Shuitingmen attracted about 210,000 visitors from Oct 1 to 7.

Camping was the most popular way for young people to celebrate the festival during the holiday. Campsites such as "Tiancangling", "Going to the Mountains" and "In the Mountains" in Kecheng district and "Lotus Starry Sky Camping" in Qujiang district were packed with people.

In addition, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the majority of people in the city chose short-distance tours.
