The yellow tea plantation in Hecun village, Longyou county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province, exceeds 400 mu (26.67 hectares), and one-third of villagers are engaged in yellow tea picking, processing and sales, increasing their incomes by more than 500,000 yuan ($69,425) a year.

In 2015, with the support of the local government, Chen Jiehua, a resident of Hecun village, founded Yunding Cooperative with his wife to grow 20 mu of yellow tea.

In addition, supporting policies have been issued to accelerate the industrial development of Longyou yellow tea and experts were invited to carry out professional training.

Today, during peak tea picking season, more than 30 workers have been hired to pick tea for Yunding Cooperative, each of whom can earn 200 yuan to 400 yuan a day.

Last year, Yunding Cooperative successfully obtained the SC food production license and attracted more tea merchants.

Meanwhile, Hecun village has developed a bamboo industry and homestay industry and explored a low-carbon circular economy to create wealth.

Last year, the collective income of Hecun village reached 386,000 yuan, a more than 300-fold increase from 1,276 yuan in 2007. The annual per capita disposable income of the village grew from 2,000 yuan in 2007 to 28,000 yuan in 2022.
