Quzhou pursues high-quality development over past decade

The GDP of Quzhou increased from 96.4 billion yuan ($13.28 billion) in 2012 to 187.6 billion yuan in 2021, while its per capita GDP exceeded $10,000.

Over the past decade, the output value of the city's industrial enterprises above designated size expanded from 133.1 billion yuan to 249.4 billion yuan.

In 2021, the per capita disposable income of urban residents reached 47,412 yuan, an increase of 96.5 percent over 2012, while that of rural residents was 18,931 yuan, a surge of 125.7 percent over 2012.

The city's average life expectancy rose to 81.9, and it was awarded the title of "world longevity city".

The quality of transregional water in the city's urban areas increased from class Ⅲ to class Ⅱ in the past 10 years, and the proportion of days with good air quality in urban areas increased from 68.2 percent to 95.6 percent.

In addition, Quzhou launched the first "carbon account" system in the country. It is an intelligent monitoring and dynamic accounting mechanism for carbon emissions in seven fields, including industry, agriculture, energy, construction, transportation, residential life and forestry carbon sinks, promoting the low-carbon development of enterprises and guiding people to live a low-carbon lifestyle.
